Springsteen's releasing a new studio album this week and Dylan's releasing a greatest hits compilation. Which do you prefer from a legend: new material or time-honored classics?
Most of the time I prefer a new album. So far Dylan's new albums haven't disappointed.
Sometime in the next 3 weeks Moto will turn 1. We've had her since she was 12 weeks old and it's a miracle we haven't dropped-kicked her back out into the wild. She's a terror. She owns us. She lures us in with her sweet, pathetic, obedient looks one minute then proceeds to eat the couch or a rug or the wall. I guess it keeps things exciting! Happy Birthday, Crusty Dog!
Do you own all the albums of any particular musical artist or group? Who?
Submitted by dutterman.I own everything from The Smiths. I could have said the same for REM and U2 until about 5 yrs ago.
If you're in the New York City area, and have the ability and desire to put in one to two months doing nothing but playing games, Freeverse Software (my previous employer) has a desperate need for competent Xbox 360 game testers.
If I could take the time off of work, I'd do it, because this game is awesome. This is the sort of game you want to be a tester for.
If you're interested, shoot me an email - remydwd at that google mail service.
"That's odd", I thought. I had never actually seen a Google service just fall off the map, even for a short length of time. Nothing that couldn't be fixed with a quick reload, anyhow.
This could be taken as easily visible evidence of the lack of support Dens was referring to when he said (boldface mine):
The other possibility is that Google is, indeed, leaving Dodgeball on the vine to die. This very well may be a serious system problem, but with the founders gone, there may be even less motivation to put resources towards it. Whoever is stuck fixing this is undoubtedly swamped.
It's no real secret that Google wasn't supporting dodgeball the way we expected. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating for us - especially as we couldn't convince them that dodgeball was worth engineering resources, leaving us to watch as other startups got to innovate in the mobile + social space.
There is a third possibility that something is deeply wrong with Google's operations group's monitoring/paging tools - and I've certainly suffered a few outages at work because of similar problems - but that's almost more troubling.
Book: Show us one of your favorite cookbooks.
Can I show two? Damn right I can.
The cookbook I've "cooked" out of the most - my Donvier was my most prized kitchen tool growing up. Not just ice cream recipes - the hot chocolate (not cocoa) recipe is to die for.
I have the first edition of this, and I love the recipes listed within, but truth be told, I have not cooked a single thing out of it.
But I've now fetched it from the shelf, and perhaps this will change soon.
